Write a letter or call your legislators about the outrage on the Barren Fork!..STIR
The illegal damming of Barren Fork Creek is an outrage against Oklahoma Scenic Rivers and against you and me.
The unique waters of high quality in our scenic rivers belong to us and should be be violated as they have been in this case (see articles from various papers in this section).
In order to fully protect our scenic rivers, STIR urges you to express your concern to newspaper editors, legislators, state agencies, and opinion leaders. Tell them that those responsible for this outrageous activity should be prosecuted to the fullest extent. THOSE WHO DID THIS TO THE BARREN FORK SHOULD NOT GO UNPUNISHED! Oklahoma's Scenic Rivers Act should be upheld.
Be sure to include you name, hometown and phone number so the letter can be verified. Tell the editor what the Barren Fork or other scenic rivers means to you and your family.
