1.  Join http://groups.yahoo.com/group/RiverMusicians if you want to email among the musicians who write songs inspired by the Illinois River.  Specifically, we're producing a second Songs For The Illinois River CD, and we want everyone who is interested in being on that album to have a chance to visit, team up, refine your songs, mentor each other, announce gigs, talk amongst yourselves.  You don't have to be a songwriter to participate in this list.  At first, we'll moderate messages just to keep out spam trolls.  Share this addy with anyone who'd like to join in.

2.  And a second site for announcements only.  Illinois River Music Announcements can be joined here:

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/rivermusic for announcements to musicians and anyone wishing to follow our progress.

As we start up, posts will be moderated so we can avoid spammers.  I hope you'll join this one to make it easy to blast out announcements to every STIR musician about our progress on the album, calls for musicians at river events, and the like.  Share this invite with anyone who'd like to receive announcements so they can join also.

For both groups, when we get rolling, your moderators will be probably Dennis Tibbits, Nancy Garber, Rickey Ray and me... Kathy Tibbits.  And Joel Sherrill too.  We'll try to keep the spam away and give musicians a place to communicate.

You can join via this email or from the Yahoo invitiation.  This solves the problem of peoples' email hiding their STIR JAM messages because they're going out to 100 people.
